Out of the more than 40 million people the Feeding America network serve each year, 20 percent of households include someone who has served or is currently serving in the U.S. military. It is unacceptable that anyone goes hungry, but it’s particularly troubling that millions of Americans who’ve protected and served our country are left without enough to eat.
The pandemic caused unexpected expenses for QM2 (SW) Rivera US NAVY and his family. Rivera turned to the food pantry at USO Mayport supported by FNEFL and was able to get the healthy food he needed to feed his family. Just as our military heroes provided us with safety and security beyond our borders, we must, in turn, provide them with a safe and secure future here at home. Let’s honor our courageous service men and women by providing them with nutritious meals and recognizing them for their unwavering commitment to our nation.
