In a world filled with admirable causes and charitable organizations, selecting the right non-profit to support can be difficult. Choosing your “why” and ensuring your charity of choice aligns with your “why” is essential. We spoke with Jason Miller, Partner at Morgan & Morgan, on why the nation’s largest personal injury law firm chose Feeding Northeast Florida as their charity of choice.
There is a distinct alignment between the mission of obtaining justice and the mission of feeding the hungry. Morgan & Morgan’s clients turn to them when unexpected events disrupt their lives, seeking assistance from a compassionate advocate with the resources to help restore a semblance of normalcy during their most challenging times. In many ways, their clients are in survival mode.
Feeding Northeast Florida’s clients come to our partner pantries and distribution sites for similar reasons. They have nowhere else to turn and need a path that introduces stability each and every week in a dignified way. Getting out of survival mode can take a while, and we are here for the long haul, just like Jason Miller.
From their first introduction to Feeding Northeast Florida, the firm’s leadership team knew they had found the perfect opportunity to positively impact the lives of seniors, veterans, families, and children who do not know where their next meal is coming from. For Jason, helping members of the community that we all love so dearly was particularly important.
North Florida is home for Jason and his family. He drives the same streets as the clients he supports each day. A graduate of the University of Florida, he met the love of his life on campus and helped build the Gainesville Morgan & Morgan office less than a mile from the Bread of the Mighty Foodbank, a branch of Feeding Northeast Florida.
In North Florida, the number of food-insecure individuals is substantial, equivalent to filling the Jaguars stadium four times over. Our community is facing a big challenge, but there are plenty of ways you can help.
Consider getting involved as Morgan & Morgan has, leading a food drive, volunteering your time in our distribution center or at a local food pantry, or sponsoring an event. It takes many hands and hearts to deliver 85,000 meals daily to those in need.
John Morgan, founder of Morgan & Morgan, often shares a saying, “We want to be everywhere for everybody.”
With those words as a guiding light, it is no wonder that Jason Miller and the leadership team at Morgan & Morgan feel compelled to support the mission of Feeding Northeast Florida generously.
We are beyond grateful for Morgan & Morgan’s commitment to fight hunger. The direct impact of their support is felt by thousands of people in our community every day.
As the year ends and you reflect on all the blessings you have received and enjoyed, please consider sharing your blessings with those in your community.
Every dollar you give equals six meals for a family, senior, veteran, or child experiencing food insecurity in our area. Your donation’s impact will be felt daily as our neighbors exit survival mode through food and the support of people like you.
Morgan & Morgan will match all your contributions, doubling the impact of your donation up to $10,000.
